
It has become more apparent and common that many offices workers skip breakfast whether due to them trying to lose weight or just not having enough time. We urge you to make sure to have breakfast every morning, otherwise, these 5 things may happen to you.
1. Weight Gain and Obesity
One of the most common fears of the average office worker is weight gain, yet they are still eating without caution. Skipping breakfast may be beneficial to losing weight in the short run, but in the long-term, your metabolism will slow down and your body will crave more food in subsequent meals resulting in gaining weight drastically.
2. ‘Hangry’ Effects
Nobody likes a moody and easily irritated character in the workplace. You wouldn’t want to be that person would you? Studies have shown that having food directly correlates to the production of neurotransmitters, chemicals in the brain that affects the creating of good feelings. So if you skip breakfast, your co-workers will probably cannot stand you because of how grumpy you always are.
3. Bad Breath
This needs no further explanation. Studies have proven that breakfast will stimulate saliva and reduce bacteria within your mouth, therefore skipping breakfast will only prolong the life of those bacteria.
4. Risk of Disease
There is a research which suggests that men who skip breakfast are 27% more susceptible to heart diseases and other various diseases such as diabetes. We don’t think trading skipping breakfast for risk of disease is worth it, and neither should you.
5. Hair Loss
Most people do not want to be bald, although we can’t speak for those who are bald by choice. But if you still want that cool winter breeze to run through your thick, lush hair, do not skip breakfast!
